Privacy Policy

Last updated 5 September 2026

PackIt does not collect your data. This policy is short because there is very little to describe.

What PackIt stores, and where

Everything you enter — your gear, photographs, storage locations, trips, menus and recipes — is stored on your device.

If you leave iCloud sync switched on, that information is also mirrored to your own private iCloud database, using Apple's CloudKit. That is your personal iCloud storage. I can't read it, and neither can any other PackIt user. It exists so your catalog is backed up and available on your other devices signed in to the same Apple Account.

You can turn iCloud sync off at any time in Settings, and PackIt will keep everything on the device only.

What PackIt does not do

Photographs and the camera

If you attach a photograph to a piece of gear, PackIt uses the camera or your photo library only for the image you choose. The image is stored with that item, on your device and in your own iCloud, and is used for nothing else.

Exporting your data

PackIt can export your entire catalog as a plain, readable file. Where that file goes afterwards — AirDrop, Files, email — is entirely your choice, and PackIt plays no part in it.

Deleting your data

Deleting the app removes everything stored on the device. To remove what is held in your iCloud, open Settings → Apple Account → iCloud → Manage Account Storage on your device and delete PackIt's data.

Children

PackIt is not directed at children and collects nothing from anyone.

Changes

If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be posted at this address with a new date at the top.
